
TIM DRY trained in Mime and Physical Theatre with Desmond Jones and Lindsay Kemp. After several years of intensive stage work (both solo and as a member of Jones’ company ‘Silents’), he was cast as ‘J’Quille – Whiphid’ and a ‘Mon Calamari Officer’ in “Star Wars Episode VI – Return Of The Jedi”. He also played The Alien in the cult Horror / Sci Fi movie ‘XTRO’.
In the early to mid 1980s he was half of the legendary mime / music duo TIK & TOK. They released 5 singles and a chart album ‘Intolerance’ in the UK, Europe and Japan. They supported Duran Duran, Gary Numan and Ultravox. They appeared on 23 TV shows, including the Royal Variety Performance in 1983 in front of HRH Queen Elizabeth. Tik & Tok reformed briefly in 2005 and wrote, recorded and released a brand new album ‘Dream Orphans’ in 2007.
Tim is also an award-winning Photographic Artist, whose subjects have included Mick Jagger, Steven Berkoff, The Mediaeval Baebes, author Rupert Thomson and Joan Collins. His work has been commissioned as CD covers, illustrative articles and book jackets for clients including Atlantic Records, Cosmopolitan magazine, Black Lace Publishing, Simon and Schuster, Virgin Records, WEA Records and Hot Shoe magazine. His unique art has been exhibited at The National Portrait Gallery, the Royal Photographic Society, the Association of Photographers Gallery and in Hamburg, Berlin, Bath, New York and also at the Christmas 2007 and 2008 shows at Gallery 286, and the Arts Club in London in March 2009.
As an actor Tim appeared in more than 90 TV Commercials in the UK and Europe. He has had featured roles in the films ‘The 10th Kingdom’, ‘Soup’ and ‘Decadence’, and UK TV shows such as ‘The Bill’, ‘Eastenders’, ‘Casualty”’, ‘Goodbye Mr Steadman’ and ‘Father Ted’. On stage he played the lead in Steven Berkoff’s ‘Harry’s Christmas’, John Bowen’s ‘After The Rain’ and Moliere’s ‘School For Wives.’ He co – presented the Channel 4 food and drink series ‘Feast’ alongside ex Sailor frontman Georg Kajanus in 1997.Clips from which are now a YouTube favourite.
Tim also continues to work as a musician. In the ‘90s he formed a duo named Noir with Georg Kajanus. Their song ‘Walking’ was a regular feature in the ‘Feast’ TV show and their album ‘Strange Desire’ was given a global release by Angel Air Records in 2007. Currently he is writing and recording new acoustic/electronica music with guitarist Mo Blackford as TIMANDMO.
In 2005 Tim published his autobiography ‘Falling Upwards – Scenes From A Life’ through Exposure Publishing. At present he is creating his first novel, entitled ‘Ricochet’, about a man's strange journeys through parallel realities as a result of his entering a portal in a West London cemetery.
